Save at the Pump with Mazda

If you're ready to reduce your carbon footprint or find ways to save more money this year, fuel consumption is one of the best places to start. Mazda has engineered the models in its lineup to offer outstanding fuel-saving features. From hybrid powertrains to aerodynamic designs, Mazda keeps the environment—and your wallet—in mind.
Variable Valve Timing
Mazda’s variable valve timing technology is used in many engine options to increase performance as well as fuel economy and efficiency. It works by altering the timing of the valves by shifting the phase angle of the camshaft. If that sounds like a bunch of jargon you don’t really care about, just know that equals better efficiency. This technology is used throughout the Mazda lineup on most models.
Turbo Powertrains
Much like variable valve timing can improve efficiency, so can turbochargers. The application of turbochargers may have started with the desire for faster vehicles, but it has an extra benefit. By using a turbocharger, Mazda can use a smaller engine with less horsepower without creating a vehicle that feels sluggish. Small turbos provide the power you need to merge onto highways or pass another car but don’t drink fuel when you’re just driving normally. A great example is the CX-30 equipped with a 2.5-liter turbocharged engine. With 250 horsepower, you might expect this car to be expensive at the pump but the sporty crossover still achieves 30 mpg on the highway.*
Hybrid & Electric Performance
Hybrid models are an outstanding way to employ the technology of electric models with more ease of use and flexibility. We're anticipating the release of several hybrid Mazda models in the future. Mazda has also released details about the MX-30, a fully-electric crossover with an estimated range of 100 miles. It's hard to be much more fuel-efficient than that!
